Urea glue powder

Self-hardening powdered urea glue for the woodworking industry. ELEfel 125 AL becomes a ready-to-use mixture after dispersing in water. It is used for hot gluing finishing papers and veneers, especially those with large holes to limit excessive surface bleed, and in the production of honeycomb panels and plywood. For most common applications, the resin is mixed with water in a ratio of 2 parts powder to 1 part water. First mix the powder with 2/3 of the required water until a smooth, lump-free mixture is obtained, then add the remaining water. The quantity of glue to be prepared should not be excessive compared to the pressing requirements; however, it should be kept in mind that the pot life of the mixture depends on its temperature.

Softening temperature 110-120°C The gluing pressure must ensure contact between the surfaces and depends on the hardness of the wood, normally between 2 and 10 kg/cm2. The quantity of glue varies greatly depending on the gluing and the characteristics required, it is between 80 and 200 g/m2. The humidity of the wood must be between 6 and 12%. The glue must be stored in the original bags in a cool, dry place. The bags must be kept tightly closed to avoid the absorption of external humidity and the consequent formation of crusts. At 20°C the glue can remain suitable for approximately 6 months, increasing the temperature reduces the shelf life.
